In May 2013, Dialog approached DiGiCOR to assist them in providing a large-scale cluster of storage with powerful processing power. We put careful attention to detail with their demands to come up with a perfect solution according to the client’s needs as long-term solution.

Digicor had a variety of challenges surrounding this project in providing an enterprise solution with a limited budget. Dialog approached Digicor as they needed to compute nodes and storage to be able to run Google Enterprise software. Prior to this, Dialog had no existing infrastructure to run these applications.

Google Enterprise allows users to customise Google Maps, zoom in incredibly great detail, and document these images. Furthermore, as these are highly detailed images, Dialog required a large storage repository, and data integrity was paramount.

Digicor provided Dialog with highly customised compute nodes for processing applications and a 520TB Software Defined Storage system based on the ZFS file system for the storage requirement. The compute nodes are made up of 5 nodes in a 4RU chassis.

Our solution effectively addressed the high-scale, high-performance application needs presented by Google Enterprise. The hardware solution implemented has enabled Dialog to pursue their enterprise consulting endeavors with confidence, knowing their infrastructure is dependable, scalable, and supported by Digicor, a prominent solution provider in Australia.

The storage and server solution delivered by Digicor equips Dialog with enterprise-class capabilities, tailored to address challenges arising from expanding datasets. It empowers Dialog to independently select their storage operating system, irrespective of the hardware it operates on. Furthermore, the SDS solution facilitates Dialog in deploying high-performance, cost-efficient data storage solutions, featuring inline deduplication, unlimited snapshots, cloning, and comprehensive HA support. By leveraging commodity hardware for the storage system, Dialog achieves approximately 20% savings on storage costs compared to mainstream supplier hardware.
