Building and Technical Testing

Learn more

We assemble and build all servers and systems locally at our head office in Melbourne, Australia. This allows us to provide a high-quality assurance process over each build as we have more control over how everything is built, tested and sent out.

DiGiCOR is proudly ISO 9001 Quality Management certified. This is the world’s most recognised quality management system, which has been achieved through our framework of ensuring consistent quality in our products.

Our Building and Testing Process

01 Confirming

Upon confirmation of the order and quotation by our dedicated account managers, we initiate the preparation process. This begins with a thorough inventory check and the procurement of any essential components required for the build.

02 Building

With all the necessary components in hand, our skilled technicians at the Melbourne head office optimize the CPU, RAM, hard drives, RAID configuration, and more. This preparation ensures a smooth deployment and seamless integration. Rest assured, every system is expertly built and dispatched from our head office.

03 Testing

After building the solution, in accordance with the Quality ISO 9001 standards, we conduct vigorous testing to verify that the system and its components are functioning optimally and are devoid of defects. All our testing procedures are meticulously carried out in-house at our head office.

Hardware Verification, Testing and Quality Assurance

RAM Test – Check RAM size is correct and matches the supplied amount of RAM as well as BIOS reports. Will be tested within the full load test.

GPU Test – We use our specific choice of GPU testing software to measure if the GPU is performing optimally through a simulation.

CPU Test – We test the performance capabilities of the processor within a simulation in our CPU testing software and observe the Tcase, TDP and if the CPU is capable of hyperthread.

Disk Test – Test disks in in our RAID testing software to ensure disks are linking at correct speed and that no errors are occurring in the logs. Afterwards, we start a rebuild and take note of the time it takes to rebuild. The rebuild should be completed error-free.

Full memory load test – We run this test on our software for a minimum of 1 hour depending on the RAM size. We take note of the temperature, if it exceeds the appropriate Tcase by more than 5% then the cooling of the server will be re-evaluated. We will take into consideration any power supply, RAM or temperature issues while testing.

RAID Setting/Test

Initially, we take note of the raw disk size and check to see if the rebuild has been completed and is error free. We ensure that every connected port is at least tested for connectivity and run the appropriate tool to load the controller, backplane and array. We take note of the amount of data written (total of all arrays) and the temperature. If the temperature is excessive, we take steps to correct and re-evaluate the enclosures cooling.

Lastly, we check the RAID controller logs to ensure all is running correctly.

Power and redundancy PSU tests We make checks on the number of PSU’s in the system, making sure it’s correct. Afterwards, we test all PSU’s by shutting down servers and booting them back up to confirm it’s running properly.

Clean Up

Clean Up is dependent on the configuration of each system. We clear and reset the BIOS if an OS is supplied. Logs are checked and cleared. If there is no OS, we wipe the drives and reset/set arrays as per required of the sales order.
In addition, we check CPU temperatures and 12v rails to make sure they are within operable limits. Making sure all of our Digicor testing equipment is removed and checking the accessory box is complete, including power cables or any other additional cables within the sales order.

If any errors occur during testing: They will be reported and action to rectify will be taken if necessary. We have set procedures to ensure any issues with builds are picked up before the machines arrive in the field. If we experience any faults in products, we look into replacing the specific product from suppliers with a new one.

We have a lot of checks and balances to make sure items will be working properly and is optimised based on customer requirements before shipping it to the end user.
