Digicor encountered a range of challenges throughout the project, requiring them to devise a solution tailored to SMX's needs. SMX Cloud Email Security stands as a mature 'in-a-box' email security and hosting solution specifically designed for business users. The task at hand was to ensure that the system could effectively handle all the features offered by SMX, including:

• Comprehensive scanning of both inbound and outbound messages, including attachments
• Implementation of highly sophisticated content control and data loss prevention functionalities
• Encrypted email archiving capabilities
• Achieving lower total cost of ownership (TCO)
• Facilitating encryption during transit
• Ensuring a 99.999% clean email delivery rate
• Maintaining 100% availability of the email server

Digicor provided SMX with highly customized compute nodes for high computing power, which was gained by having multiple (8 x 2U) server nodes to maintain high redundancy. On top of this, they were provided with 3 x 2U storage nodes. This helped SMX attain seamless failover and 100% availability, delivered from their data centres and ISPs running an active configuration. This solution suited their needs as it was highly cost effective, was well within their budget and easy to manage. Standard commodity hardware was used and runs great with their software environment.

Since adopting Digicor’s solution, SMX has reaped a multitude of benefits.
